National Night Out August 4

 

Join us on Tuesday, August 4 from 5 to 7 for National Night Out. Co-hosted by HNA and Good Shepherd Church, the event will be at the church, 4141 Mormon Coulee Road. The Police Department is supplying the hot dogs and chips, while the church and HNA will supply some beverages. If you can, bring some food to share. 

To reduce plastic use and avoid plastic waste, please bring your own plates and utensils if you can. 

 There will be some children's games available, some unique vehicles to check out, and, we're excited that our County Board representative, Randy Erickson, will again be providing entertainment.  

We're looking for a few people to help set up between 4 and 5 p.m. If you want to help, please come to the church at 4.

Also, on July 28, the city is hosting two public input sessions regarding proposed changes to the city's Bicycle Pedestrian Master plan. The city has applied to raise water rates. Though specifics are not available, the news release said residential rates would rise by 64.7% if approved by the Public Service Commission (PSC). July updates

First, we are again working with Good Shepherd Church to host the neighborhood National Night Out on Tuesday, August 4 from 5 to 7 p.m. The church will host a potluck and we will collect donations for Hintgen Elementary School (more details to come). We are looking for a few helpers to set up between 4 and 5 p.m. and/or to clean up after 7 p.m. If you can help, please email HintgenNA at gmail.

Also, we hope to include people near our neighborhood who don't have their own association, especially those living in Districts 11, 12, and 13. We will have a flyer/invitation available soon.

There is a partisan primary election on Tuesday, August 11. Absentee-in-person (AIP) voting will begin on Tuesday, July 28 at City Hall which is accessible via the #4 bus that serves our neighborhood.  The La Crosse Area Planning Committee (LAPC) is updating the Regional Transit development Plan and needs input from residents and visitors! This survey will take less than 5 minutes and will greatly help LAPC make recommendations that best represent how our community uses transit. Whether or not you ride transit, it provides an essential service to those that need it and is a great alternative to driving, walking, or biking.

The Regional Transit Development Plan is a 5–10 year plan meant to track and recommend improvements to local transit services. Hearing from the public is an important part of making sure future investments in transit make the system work better.
