City zoning - updating the codes

ZONING CODE UPDATE INFO SESSION

Hintgen area neighbors are invited to attend a presentation by City Planners about the zoning update process on MONDAY, JUNE 9 at 6 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of La Crosse, 401 West Ave South. Use the north side entry. This space is accessible via the C2 Circulator or the Route #2 MTU buses.

We will join residents of two other neighborhoods, Weigent-Hogan and Holy Trinity-Longfellow.

May 22 - Meet Our Electeds!

We have invited City Council Representatives from Districts 11, 12, and 13, plus our County Board Representative and our new Mayor to a get together on Thursday, May 22 from 6 to 7 p.m. at Good Shepherd Church, 4141 Mormon Coulee Road

This is our opportunity to hear from our elected officials about their top priorities and talk to them about our concerns. Please plan to attend! (Not all may be able to be there, but we do have confirmations from two so far.)

If anyone is interested in keeping watch over Highland Park this summer, with twice monthly one-hour maintenance times, please email HintgenNA@gmail.com. 

The city's zoning update process will not be part of this meeting. The scheduling did not work out. You can learn more about the process at https://forwardlacrosse.org/ and there will be a meeting on June 9 where neighborhoods can also ask questions. More details about this meeting will be coming soon.

The city is updating its No Mow May program to Grow Green. "This year we are GROWING beyond the mowing to encourage homeowners to consider a incorporating sustainable lawn care practices, lawn alternatives, pollinator and rain gardens and more!" GROW La Crosse is hosting a plant sale at the Western Technical College greenhouse on 7th Street on May 8-10, In addition, they are seeking sponsors and volunteers for the school gardens around the city, including the garden at Hintgen school. The City's Brush and Yard Waste site is open for the season. New this year - you must purchase a $25 annual sticker in order to use the site.
